Established in 1981, Moorooduc Estate is a family-run wine business owned by Richard and Jill McIntyre. Known for its complex, food-friendly wines, the Estate has gained an enviable reputation in the industry. Situated in the Mornington Peninsula, it offers an array of hand-crafted wines and produce available for tasting and purchase at its cellar door.
The Estate adheres to a philosophy of using top-quality ingredients, with minimal chemical use and intensive, hands-on care in the vineyard to produce high-quality fruit. Its traditional Burgundian techniques, including wild yeast ferments and minimal intervention winemaking, allow for a distinct expression of terroir.
Beyond wine, the Estate sources seasonal, local, and organic ingredients for goods available at the cellar door and for Jill’s special luncheons. Moorooduc Estate’s wines frequently receive high praise in the press and hold a five-star status in James Halliday’s Australian Wine Companion.
